About
After moving from Russia to Germany in 1999, Alexey Tarasov studied Physics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, including an exchange semester at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
His studies were supported by a scholarship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
He obtained his PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Basel, Switzerland, graduating summa cum laude with research on silicon nanowire field-effect transistor biosensors.
His subsequent research at the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) was supported by the Early and Advanced Postdoc Mobility Fellowships of the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Before joining Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences in 2019, he led a research group at the BioMed X Institute in Heidelberg.
