The CMM Bachelor's degree program combines engineering sciences with life sciences and medical technology. Students acquire in-depth knowledge in microsystems technology, electronics, as well as bio- and materials sciences. Through the close integration of theory and practice, they are optimally prepared for innovative activities in industry, research, and development.

 

The degree program provides a solid engineering education with a foundation in natural sciences and practice-oriented applications. The study content is divided into the following module groups: Introduction to the field, Electrical Engineering, Physics and Chemistry, Construction, Materials and Manufacturing, Mathematics and Computer Science, Specialization subjects (Medical Technology or Microsystems Technology), as well as elective subjects and integration modules. The goal is to enable students to systematically analyze technical problems and develop application-oriented solutions.

 

After graduation:

  • Graduates are able to design, develop, and characterize microsystems and medical technology components; select and apply techniques and tools in a problem-oriented manner, and formulate solution approaches—both independently and within interdisciplinary expert teams.
  • You acquire further methodological competencies, such as in planning and organization through project work, as well as in scientific research through the Bachelor's thesis.
  • You can interact constructively in interdisciplinary teams and with individuals of different cultural backgrounds, and conduct conversations at an appropriate linguistic level in both German and English.

Graduates are professionally and methodologically qualified to work as engineers and scientists in interdisciplinary fields of application and gain access to a scientific career path (Master of Science, Doctorate/PhD).
