Due to a stay abroad at the University West in Trollhättan (Sweden) you can earn a Double Degree under certain requirements. University West will award a M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Hochschule Kaiserslautern a M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.

Your stay abroad at University West will take place in the 2. semester in the form of a 30 ECTS mobility module. At University West modules in the field of manufacturing engineering / metal additive manufacturing as well as robotics and automation can be chosen, see fact sheet. The conditions of study and the lab equipment are excellent at University West. The master’s thesis and the colloquium (30 ECTS) will be supervised and graded by two supervisors, one from each university.

At University West a 60 ECTS and a 120 ECTS master‘s programme are offered. A swedish magister degree is awared, if 60 ECTS are earned for the mobility module and the jointly supervised master’s thesis (60 ECTS master‘s programme). 30 ECTS can be chosen additionally (in presence or online) at University West in order to be awarded with the swedish master’s degree. In both cases a M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering will be granted. For EU students no tuition fees are charged.
