Facilities and Equipment

The "Molecular Electrophysiology" research group benefits from the very good facilities at the study location in Zweibrücken. In addition to the basic science and engineering laboratories (chemistry, physics, biology, biochemistry and e-technology), the IMST faculty has a well-equipped clean room.

In addition, these specialised instruments are available in the laboratory of the research group:

  • Complete patch-clamp measuring station with application system for substance administration to individual cells
  • Microelectrode fabrication: pipette puller (Sutter P-97); microforge (Narishige MF-810); chlorination station for silver wires (ALA-Systems)
  • Complete multi-electrode measuring station with the possibility of using "perforated MEAs" (Multi Channel System, MCS)
  • Measuring station for impedance measurement of MCS MEAs (Multi Channel Systems)
