New exciting project in the research focus area of HTS

The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung (external link) will support the "Tissue engineering in complex hydrogels by means of three-dimensional electrical and magnetic stimulation" project with one million euros from 2020. Tissue engineering means the production of tissue replacements in the laboratory. The aim of the project is the production of intestinal wall analogous tissue from muscle and nerve cells through the targeted influence of electrical and magnetic fields in a MEMS container (MEMS: Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems). This tissue can be used for medicament testing or as replacement tissue in intestinal diseases. The research focus area HTS is participating in the project in the field of modelling, simulation and measurement of electric and magnetic fields as well as in the fields of testing and verification. Congratulations and the best wishes for success!

The research focus area of HTS remains on the HRK research map

Last year, the University of Kaiserslautern participated in the comprehensive evaluation of the research focus area listed in the Research Map of the German Rectors' Conference. As has now become known, the HTS research focus area still meets the criteria for a nomination in the research map. Congratulations to all members of HTS!

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Schumann new member in the research focus area HTS

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Schumann is welcomed as a new member in the research focus area HTS. He is responsible for the teaching of power electronics, electronics and EMC at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern.

New research focus "Highly efficient technical systems"

The University of Applied Science in Kaiserslautern has a new research focus. "Highly efficient technical systems" is the name of the university's fourth research area, which the university's senate has now approved. With the focus, which was especially developed in the Department of Applied Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern, the university is sharpening its research profile and further expanding its position as one of the most research-intensive (technical) universities in Rheinland Pfalz.
