Prof. Dr.- Ing. Dominique Bohrmann

Biography

  • Dominique Bohrmann has served as Professor of Empirical Methods and Multimedia Knowledge Transfer in the Department of IMST at HSKL since July 2026. Before joining academia, he held several positions at Mercedes-Benz, where he contributed to research and development in the areas of Automated Driving and Vehicle Electrification. He also served at the Corporate Headquarters of Deutsche Bahn, supporting executive management at the board level. From 2022 to 2024, he was affiliated with the Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) Group at the University of Trier. As part of the interdisciplinary research project FlexiTeams, he investigated the application of artificial intelligence to support decision-makers in the coordination and management of emergency response teams during crisis situations. Conducted in collaboration with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the Department of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Trier, his research focused on the design and evaluation of user-centred human–machine interfaces that facilitate effective human–AI collaboration. He received his Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich (TUM School of Engineering and Design), specializing in Human Factors Engineering. In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz, his doctoral research investigated vehicle interior design strategies to mitigate motion sickness (kinetosis) in future mobility concepts, with a particular emphasis on highly automated and autonomous vehicles.
