Admission requirements:
General higher education entrance qualification or higher education entrance qualification or a qualification recognized as equivalent. The application procedure consists of a two-phase aptitude test:

Registration for the two-phase aptitude test: Please submit your application for participation in the aptitude testincluding attachments (university entrance qualification certificate, CV with photo and letter of motivation) together with your application portfolio by post.

IMPORTANT: Your artistic portfolio will remain with us until the application process has been completed. If you do not wish to collect the portfolio in person, please be sure to enclose sufficient return postage (prepaid and completed DHL parcel card or stamps, depending on the size of the portfolio). We will destroy any remaining folders by the first of December of the current year.

PHASE 1 | APPLICATION & PORTFOLIO
Submission of a portfolio (no digital data carriers) with at least 10 independently produced artistic works and a statement on study motivation and personal development in the artistic, creative or performing arts field (max. 1 DIN A4 page), followed by the aptitude test.

Info: Analog and digital works are considered equally in the procedure.
In order to better understand the artistic process behind your work, it is advantageous to document the individual steps. This applies in particular to digital works, as image collages are a legitimate means of creating a working basis (keyword: photo-bashing). If an image template was used or third-party assets are used for 3D scenes (models and textures), this should be clearly communicated. This does not result in a deduction for the evaluation of the portfolio, but own creations are of course rated better than reconstructions.
Originals, sketches and photos/pictures can possibly be laid out and labeled together on one sheet for the application portfolio. In this way, you can generally also form thematic blocks or summarize things for the portfolio submission. Medium gray cardboard/“photo cardboard” (approx. DIN A2) is recommended for this purpose. Such a theme sheet with individual works, such as a sketchbook, counts as one of “10-15 required works” in the application process.

Application deadline with submission of the portfolio: up to and including June 1 of each year.
