Admission procedure


Assessment criteria:

  • Professional aptitude: Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Architecture with an overall grade of at least 2.6
  • Personal aptitude: high motivation, special commitment,
  • Portfolio: a suitable selection of your own projects


Applicants with a first degree from a university in Germany

The online applicationfor the Master's program in Architecture, as well as all documents necessary for the decision on your professional and personal suitability, must be received by the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern by the application deadline (January 15 for the summer semester and July 15 for the winter semester) of each year (strict deadline).

 

Admission documents:

Please upload the following documents when applying online:

  • Letter of motivation (approx. one DIN A4 page)
  • Curriculum vitae with Photo
  • Transcripts (bachelor’s/diploma, high school, employment references, continuing education and professional development)
  • Digital portfolio with samples of your work (Please pay attention to both the content and the presentation format)

After reviewing your documents, you may be invited to an interview.

 

Applicants with a first degree from a university outside of Germany

The Hochschule Kaiserslautern has tasked uni-assist with inspecting such candidates’ certificates.

Master's application interview

The selection interview is intended to determine the applicant's personal suitability for the Master's degree program in Architecture.

Personal aptitude should be demonstrated by a pronounced interest in the Master's degree program in Architecture, a correspondingly high level of motivation and particular commitment. A letter of motivation and work samples form the basis for the interview.
