The organisation and structure of the student bodies at the University of Apllied Science Kaiserslautern comply with the requirements of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act. Due to the different study locations, a constituted student body can be founded for each study location. For historical reasons, there is a joint AStA and student parliament for Kaiserslautern and Pirmasens.

Students are formally involved through their membership of the university's bodies and committees. The equal representation on the committees responsible for quality assurance processes, which are shown in the diagram below, ensures that students are involved in decisions relating to teaching and learning at all levels of the university.
