Standardization of test bench procedures for the evaluation of electric motors in submersible pumps
In the joint project, the partners from industry and science will develop a draft standard. This draft standard will describe the measurement of electric motors for submersible motor pumps on the test bench. Electric motors for submersible pumps are very specific products due to their characteristic geometry and their contact with liquids during operation. The existing standards from the IEC 60034 family are intended to clarify which test parts can be adopted and which parts need to be revised as the project progresses.
Necessary new sections are to be supported by measurements in the laboratory and tested for practical applicability by the industry partners. The aim of the project is to produce a draft standard that will serve as the basis for subsequent IEC implementation. To this end, it is planned to set up a working group together with the IEC specialist group for electric motors at the end of this project and to convert the previously developed committee preliminary draft into an IEC standard as a "New Work Item Proposal".
